Global Warming Print E-mail

Here is one of our design projects that could have been fatal, luckily the driver got out alive, but was very shaken after his advertising vehicle was blown over on the motorway on route to Birmingham.

global warming crash

This happened on Tuesday 23rd January 2007 the same day that eleven people were killed by extreme weather conditions in the UK. Like a lot of people in the UK I was concerned while watching the News. But when I became directly involved in this incident, it started me thinking about climate change a little more deeply and how I could personally help make a difference through my work.

I will advise or suggest ways in which the work we produce can lesson the impact on global warming and climate change, this could be a simply suggestion to switch to a more environmentally friendly paper when printing posters, brochures or leaflets. It could be using suppliers who are environmentally friendly by using water-based inks that will lesson the impact of the printed media.

It could be advising clients on email marketing where we can cut out the printed document
altogether.

It could be virtual publishing where we can trim the volume of large catalogue or brochure print runs, again this will help reduce the use of resources.

It could be using recycled corporate gifts or at least to consider them.

It could be sending proofs via e-mail and cutting out unnecessary car journeys.

Without becoming boring and preaching, I really believe if we help a little we can change a lot.
