Board Game Print E-mail

Chester-le Street Youth Centre is a registered charity, the Operating Agency is Durham County Council, Community Education Service.

In our first briefing meeting I had to cost and devise a board game based on the Chester-le-Street area, the problem was the client knew they wanted a quality board game so it would appeal to the members of the youth centre, but they did not have any ideas on what the game would be about or how it would work, they did have funding secured from The National Lotto

Board Game

Not the easiest brief I have had, however after a couple of weeks I came back with the idea of basing the game on the Chester-le-street Heritage trail. Once the theme of the game had been agreed it was a question of making up rules and questions. The production was reasonably straight forward the only snag we came across was finding a supplier who could provide dice and dibbers in a relatively small quantity. After searching and contacting various suppliers I managed to find a manufacturer in China, who would not supply me direct because of the small quantities involved, but could recommended one of their resellers in Vegas called Mr Chips. So we soon air freighted the quantity we needed to complete the project just in time for the launch. The game was a huge success with the client and members of Chester-le-Street Youth Centre.
